ZooLights Festival
Performers Registration Information

The Oregon Zoo is celebrating our 15th Annual ZooLights Winter Festival this December. We would like to invite your musical group to participate in this month-long event.

ZooLights has become a Portland tradition attracting thousands of visitors. During the Festival, the Zoo is ablaze with the glow of more than 500,000 holiday lights, which decorate the zoo train, animal buildings, trees and specially designed silhouettes. Music, a puppet theater, and other activities provide entertainment throughout each evening.

The Festival runs nightly November 29th through December 29th, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (till 9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday). We are closed December 24th and 25th. We ask that each group perform a seasonal program approximately thirty minutes in length. A piano, cassette player, music stand, seats, and a platform will be provided. A small public address system will be available, but the space lends itself very well to non-amplified performances.

This year we are adding two more performance venues between Friday, December 13th and Friday, December 27th. The performance areas are at the Entry Plaza/Cascade Grill and Africafe. These venues are ideal for a cappella, small instrumental and other groups that don't require a P.A. system or piano. Please see the accompanying form for available times.

December 26th through December 29th is a great time to performvisitors are still in the holiday spirit and each evening is very well attended!

Group members will receive free ZooLights admission (does not include train) and are welcome to enjoy the entire evening's festivities. Remember to dress for the weather!

I hope you can join us and entertain some of the 75,000 people who attend this event. Please complete and sumit the registration form if you are interested in participating. Performances will be scheduled on the basis of the date the forms are returned. You will receive a confirmation letter as soon as you are scheduled. Admission tickets and other information will be mailed one week prior to your performance.
