Volunteer!
Volunteers practically run the Zoo! Last year, more than 1,500 people gave 118,000 hours of service.
Our ZooGuide program is for adults (18 yrs and older) who commit to at least 88 hours a year.
Our ZooTeen program is for young people entering 9th-12th grade.
We also offer a Junior ZooTeen program (Intro to Volunteering) for students entering 8th grade after the summer. Registrations for Junior ZooTeens are available every March. Registration is done by lottery and all are considered equally. For an application, please e-mail your mailing address to Mia at , or call the Youth Volunteer Office at (503) 220-2449. A Notification of Acceptance will be mailed.
Opportunities for Youth Groups
We have volunteer opportunities for community groups such as scout troops, church groups and service clubs. Help us with an event, or take on a one-day project of your own.
