National Pet Week Kickoff

Celebrate the kickoff of National Pet Week at the Zoo!

The Portland Veterinary Medical Association and other organizations staff booths and talk with visitors about pet care, appropriate pets and related subjects. The day includes hands-on activities, prizes and a coloring contest for children. The Oregon Humane Society provides educational materials and has Animal Assisted Therapy dogs for you to meet. Participants include the American Association of ZooKeepers, Animal School, Assistance Dogs and People, Canine Companions, Dove Lewis Emergency Veterinary clinic, Guide Dogs for the Blind and Mt. Wilderness Search & Rescue. Sponsored by PVMA, KWJJ and Petco.
